The Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority (I-E RHA) is responsible for the provision of health services and programs to meet the needs of the people of the North Eastman region. One of the Corporate Offices is located in Pinawa.
The Pinawa Hospital, an accredited 17-bed acute care hospital, provides health care services to the Town of Pinawa and surrounding municipalities, including:
Acute care and 24-hour Emergency Room service, supported by 24-hour Diagnostic services
Primary Health Care Centre with two physicians (204-753-2351) Mon-Fri 9:00-noon-1:00-5:00
Mental Health Services
4-Station Community Cancer Program day clinic
Public Health Nurse
Chronic Disease and Wellness Team
Temporary placement for long-term care clients
Various forms of support are available through Community Resource Councils. Services are provided on a volunteer basis and a fee for service basis.
Services include: transportation escorts, housekeeping, friendly visiting, telephone check, yard work, errands, translation, completing forms, personal response system, foot care, income tax, vacation home check, various support groups, health and wellness promotion events, meal programs, information, referral and advocacy among others. Community Resource Councils provide services that enable Seniors to maintain an independent living status. A Home Care Program is available to those requiring health services or assistance with daily living.
Pinawa has a privately owned, three-chair Dental Clinic, with one dentist, two hygienists, and two dental assistants located near the hospital.
The Pinawa Pharmacy is located in the Solo Market in the Sunova Mall.
Other health services to be found within Pinawa include physiotherapy, mental health counselling, home care, nutrition counselling, and personal training. Our health care experts are trained to treat your entire family.
The Pinawa Primary Care Clinic (204-753-2351) is open 8:30 a.m. – noon and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
