Overview
Municipal elections in the LGD of Pinawa are held every four years. These elections are governed by the Manitoba Elections Act, ensuring fair and transparent processes for all candidates and voters.
The 2026 election will have five (5) elected positions: one Mayor and four Councilors elected at-large

Application For Personal Security Protection
To be eligible to vote in the municipal elections, you must:
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be at least 18 years old on election day
- Have resided or owned property in the LGD of Pinawa for at least six months prior to election day
How to Vote
Voting can be done in person at designated polling stations or through mail-in ballots. Detailed instructions and locations will be provided closer to the election date.

Registration of Prospective Candidate for General Municipal Election
You may want to be the Mayor or a Councilor if:
- You care about your community
- You want to make your community better
- You want to serve and give back
- You want to make a difference
- You want to help set direction for the community
To qualify as a Mayor or a Councilor, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Canadian citizen
- Be at least 18 years old on Election Day
- Be a voter in the municipality; you are a resident or own property for six months prior to the date of the election and are on the voters list

Candidate Registration (Mayor): May 1, 2026- September 22, 2026
Candidate Registration (Councilor): June 30, 2026 - September 22, 2026
Nomination Period: September 16, 2026- September 22, 2026
Campaign Expenses Period (Mayor): May 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027
Campaign Expenses Period (Councilor): June 30, 2026 - March 31, 2027
Withdrawal deadline: September 23, 2026
Advance Poll: October 24, 2026 (Saturday at Vanier Teen Centre)
Election Day: October 28, 2026
Filing of Election Finance statements: May 26, 2027
