Please be aware that there are designated parking areas known as Pinawa Paid Parking Areas
Why are we charging for parking?
Parking charges are implemented to recover the costs of making Pinawa serviceable for visitors.
Services such as waste collection, washroom and parking lot maintenance, and urban/natural upkeep are expenses to provide a positive experience for both visitors and residents.
The revenue collected from parking fees is meant to recover this cost, fund the community’s economic and recreational vitality, protect the natural beauty of this town and keep Pinawa open for all to enjoy.
The following parking areas require payment in 2025:
Diversion Dam (Channel float start)
Pinawa Suspension Bridge (Channel float end)
The Sundial
East side of Willis Drive with access to the beach, pool, the marina and boat launch
The Pinawa Paid Parking Areas are shown on this map in yellow
Parking in all areas costs $10+ service fee. If you are not a resident of Pinawa, parking day passes are available at any of the parking locations through Pinawa’s payment system (HONK website)
QR codes will be posted at all parking locations
Scan the QR code with a smartphone and access the link
From there, you can pay on your phone with a credit card
Purchasing a day pass at a parking location allows full day access to all Pinawa Paid Parking Areas.
Signage will indicate which parking areas are paid access.
How will I know where I can park?
Signage will indicate if the area is Pinawa paid parking.
I already paid for parking in a different area. If I switch areas, do I have to pay again?
No. Once you have paid for parking in one area, your payment applies to all Pinawa paid parking areas for the day for that vehicle.
Does parking expire after a certain time?
A day pass is valid until midnight of the day it was purchased.
What if I don’t have a smartphone?
This online payment system is the most eco-friendly and convenient setup for taking parking payments. Unfortunately, we are not accepting cash transactions to pay for parking or handing out paper slips to indicate payment. However, there are a couple of alternative options to paying for parking if you do not have a smartphone or credit card.
Ask another visitor at the parking site to input your license plate into HONK and repay them with cash.
Come visit the Municipal Office at 36 Burrows Drive during regular hours (8:30-4:30)
