Naming of Baseball Diamond next to Burrows Park

The Local Government District of Pinawa is gathering community feedback on

officially naming the Baseball Diamond next to Burrows Park ('Pinawa Lions Memorial Park') to:

“Pinawa Pioneers Ball Diamond”

This proposal was submitted by the Pinawa Families for Community Growth.

 This proposal and public consultation are in accordance with the LGD of Pinawa’s Name Dedication of Public Space Policy.

Name Dedication Process Proposed Schedule: (Strikethrough text = Completed)

• October 28: Public Survey Opened
• November 12: Council Meeting – 1^st reading of Naming By-law
• November 15: Public Survey Closed
• December 10: Council Meeting – Public Hearing
• December 10: Council Meeting – Council review of Public Consultation Feedback & Potential 2^nd and 3^rd reading of Naming By-law
• December 10: Council Meeting -  By-law was not approved and was deferred to a future meeting.  
• January 2025: Council Meeting – Potential later date for future discussion of proposed naming. 

Final Council approval on the naming proposal would take place during 3^rd reading of the By-law.
